Landmark Safety Achievement for Cook-MFS
Cook-MFS records 500,000 safe man-hours
On August 23, 2010, Cook Mechanical Field Services (Cook-MFS) celebrated a significant accomplishment: a half million man-hours without a lost-time injury.
The achievement reflects the outstanding efforts by the Safety Department, employees and management team at Cook-MFS and underscores Cook Compression’s long-standing commitment to the highest standards for health, safety and environment (HSE).
The milestone is particularly notable given the type of work performed by Cook-MFS. Cook personnel provide on-site maintenance, repair and overhaul services for customers in energy, power generation, manufacturing and other heavy industries. Field service personnel work at customer locations across the United States, often in difficult environments and in all types of weather conditions.
Wade Calk, Operations Manager for Cook-MFS, credits the extensive experience and vigilance of field service crews and support personnel, as well as a commitment from Cook management to support safety efforts: “From supervisor training and constant awareness training to daily ‘tailgate’ safety meetings and ‘huddle-up meetings’ – they all play a crucial role in building the safety record of Cook-MFS.”
Cook-MFS retains compliance with National Compliance Management Service (NCMS), ISNetworld, PEC, VERIFORCE, PIC and DOT. Cook-MFS also has received multiple awards from Insurance Writers, Industrial Safety Training Council, Safety Council of East Texas and Contractor’s Safety Council, along with recognition by the entire customer base.
